I was at this hotel between 6/7/9 to 6/11/9. When I made the reservation it said shuttle service to and from the hotel, I called and I was told it was only from the hotel to the airport but finally it is just on certain hours and because I was taking an early flight I could not use it. The hotel is outdated I think is asking for a renovation, the room itself looked old and the tiny balcony extremely unsafe. I will say the staff is very nice and the security is awesome. The breakfast buffet was ok although you would expect more variety in food specially fruits in a country like brazil. I did not use the restaurant in the top floor because it is as overpriced as the hotel, specially in an area with many choices as Copacabana is. There are 2 fitness center but it is not included in the package, I don't think worth the price you pay for a regular room that is why next time I won't stay in there.

check in was a great I was place on the 27 th floor in a nice updated room with a king size bed I needed 2 twin bed instead,within 5 minutes I was move to the 26 th floor in a room that was as nice or nicer than the last each time I called for room service or needed anything like a cork screw or to reset the in- room safe 5 minutes someome was there to help The pool and the skylab resturant was great (on the 30th floor) The breakfast buffet was a great value all I can say after reading some of the bad reveiws it was really a good stay I spent my 50th Birthday (01-11-09) it was the most enjoyable birthday

The rooms are somewhat dated, and both rooms I had did not have locks on the sliding doors. The furnishings vary in age. That said, the staff was courteous and prompt. I was upgraded at no cost to a better room, and there seemed to be a pervasive spirit among the employees toward providing guests with a positive experience. The breakfast buffet was great, and the room service was outstanding. All factors considered, the hotel is a good value, and the room views of Copacabana and Sugerloaf are classic.
